Where did rain start to beat Nigerians nay Africans?

Why is it that with so many natural resources (human, agricultural, mineral) and 162 accredited universities (41 Federal, 47 State and 74 private edu.ng/) all with Faculties of Science and Engineering, Nigeria has not registered any major breakthrough in these faculties?

How comes that with 3 specialized Universities of Agriculture and Faculties of Agriculture in almost all the conventional universities that citizens still practise subsistence farming using traditional tools instead mechanized agriculture?

Can the problem be attributed to irrelevant curricula? To what extent is the Nigerian curriculum relevant and futuristic?
